What is a Prosperity Consciousness?

" Anything that we are aware of at a given moment forms part of our consciousness, making conscious experience at once the most familiar and most mysterious aspect of our lives."--Schneider and Velmans, 2007

For this application a prosperity consciousness is a positive way of thinking and believing about money. It is based on the Law of Attraction which states that what we think about and feel strongly about, we create.

In a nut shell, a prosperity consciousness is the belief that there is money to be had and that we deserve it.

So, in opposition to that, a poverty consciousness is the belief that there isn't enough to go around and that we're not one of the smart ones, lucky ones or deserving ones.

Our belief systems are our choice.

When we are young, and learning what the world is all about, we are like sponges. We firstly learn from our parents, then the school system and then as our circle of influence gets bigger, we learn more. If we grow up in a family where money is not abundant, we learn such things as 'money doesn't grow on trees' and 'there is never enough to go round' and 'we can't afford that'. Since we have never known it any other way, we believe it.

We carry those beliefs with us as we grow up and become independent of our families.

We don't have to believe it!

We can change it. We can make changes in the way we feel about and react with money. Since it is a consciousness, we need to be conscious of it, to change it. Look around you at wealthy people. They accept money as their right and they create more. They are no different than you. They only think and believe differently.

First and foremost, though, we need to feel good about ourselves. The rest comes easy when we respect and honor ourselves. There is no lack or limitation in a person who honors themselves.
